EQUIPMENT INFORMATION

As a practitioner of Tae Kwon Do, there are several types of
equipment one should be familiar with. The traditional uniform is known as a
do-bock, and consists of a loose-fitting pair of pants and a
double-breasted top.
CHEST GUARDS
|
A chest guard is designed to protect
the upper body during sparring matches. Typically constructed with shock
absorbent foam or rubber, they are usually marked with circular targets
(as shown) in reversible colors. |

|
HEAD GUARDS
|

|
Another important protective piece of equipment are head
guards. Made with thick foam, they are designed to protect the cranium
and ear drums from high kicks while sparring. |
FOREARM AND SHIN GUARDS
|
During sparring, students also wear guards to protect the
bones in the forearms (wrist to elbow) and shins. |

|
TRAINING TOOLS
|

|
Kicking mitts are available at many martial arts
equipment stores and are used as a training tool for Tae Kwon Do
students. |
